TERAMO – Two virtual tours describe the dialogue between the past and the present, between ancient and new values of mosaic, form, language, and media.
The “Art in Act 008” edition, dedicated to the finalist works of the Gaem Prize in Ravenna (Young Artists and Mosaic) and the mosaic deposits of Teramo, will be available online today from 12:00 PM (http://bit.ly/artinact) thanks to the collaboration between Fondazione Cingoli, Fondazione Tercas, Fai Teramo delegation, and the Mar Museum of Ravenna.
On one side, the journey through the finalist works of the Gaem, displayed at Villa Paris in Roseto degli Abruzzi (Teramo), and on the other, the itinerary of the city of Teramo with selected sites by the Fai delegation (Domus Madonna delle Grazie, Domus Piazza Sant’Anna, Domus Palazzo Melati-no, Domus dei Delfini, and Domus di Bacco).
“The annual appointment with contemporary art is renewed,” says Andrea Cingoli, artistic director of Art in Act. “In particular, with the expressive force of emerging artists, which the Cingoli Founda-tion fervently promotes. The 2020 edition connects to the paradigm of evolution in mosaic art between the ancient and the modern, and the need to reconsider the habits and values of commu-nication and consumption tools due to Covid-19.”
“With great interest,” comments Tiziana Di Sante, president of the Fondazione Tercas, “we embraced the project idea from the Cingoli Foundation, which proposed the cultural and historical reva-luation of Teramo’s mosaics, a project we have been working on for years.”
The virtual tours, created by Redorange, are complemented by video interviews with Cingoli, Di Sante, Monica Calvarese from the Fai Teramo delegation, and Maurizio Tarantino, director of the Ravenna Museum. The critical note on the works of the Gaem is written by curator Linda Kniffitz.
Thanks to the virtual tour, visitors can access information about the artists and their works, with high-definition images and videos, including an immersive experience.
Among the works of the 19 finalists of the prize, established by the Museum of Art of Ravenna, special mentions go to the award-winning artists Atsuo Suzumura (Orsoni Award), Roberta Grasso (Nicola Cingoli Award), Peng Shuai (CNA Award), and the biennial mosaic award to Marco De Santi.
